September 16, 2020 will be the 4th anniversary of the tragic killing of our beloved, Terence Crutcher. We are writing to inform you that we will NOT have our Annual Memorial Gala due to COVID-19. In lieu of the Gala, the Terence Crutcher Foundation has decided to honor Terence’s life with an organized day of service. The day of service will assist with finding solutions to the City of Tulsa’s homelessness crisis. We believe that criminalizing homelessness, mental illness, drug addiction and poverty in the middle of a pandemic is not the answer. The city is set to open a new overflow day shelter for people experiencing homelessness on Tuesday, Sept. 7, and 55 adult beds will be ready for individuals to shelter overnight beginning September 28, 2020.
Terence Crutcher Foundation Day of Service will consist of the following:
• Care Package Drive
• Barbeque Cookout
• Uplifting Music
Items needed for the Care Package Drive include:
Backpacks, scarfs, gloves, socks, undergarments, feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, wipes, soap, shaving cream, razors, lip balm (travel sizes if available), dog dishes, small bottles of water, packaged cheese/peanut butter crackers, tuna packs, Vienna sausage, fruit cups, plastic spoons
Please drop off items for care packages at Greenwood Leadership Academy located at 1789 W. Seminole St, Tulsa, OK 74127 between the times of 9am - 3pm. You can also purchase items through our Amazon Wish List by clicking the link below!
